Alicja Weber

Born in Lvov. She graduated with distinction from the Department of Theory and Composition of the State Higher School of Music in Gdańsk (1967). She has 50 years of work experience. Her professional career began at the Pomeranian Philharmonic as the program secretary of music festivals. She worked as a teacher of theoretical subjects (history of music, music literature, musical forms) in the Music High School in Bydgoszcz and the Secondary Music School in Torun. In the years 1971-1975 she was a visitator of music education at the Department of Culture and Arts of the Voivodeship Office in Bydgoszcz. From 1979, he works at the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz – currently at the Faculty of Conducting, Jazz Music and Music Education, where she teaches subjects: analysis of a musical work, score-reading. In the years 1981-1990 she was the Director of the Opera in Bydgoszcz. In the years 1999-2005 she was the Dean at the Faculty of Choral Conducting and Music Education of the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz. For more than 20 years, he deals with journalism and music criticism in the pages of Bydgoszcz journals. She is the author of articles in the Research Bulletin (Zeszyty Naukowe) of the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz. She is also the author of the book “From the History of the Opera in Bydgoszcz” published by the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz. Furthermore, co-author of about 300 entries in three publications: “Bydgoszcz operatic Lexicon” (2002) and “Bydgoszcz musical Lexicon” (2004), „Encyclopedia of Bydgoszcz” (2011). Awarded with the Minister of Culture awards, the state distinction and individual awards of the Rector of the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz. She is a member of the Association of Polish Music Artists.
