Joanna Krempeć-Kaczor

Joanna Krempeć-Kaczor (associate professor) is the winner of several prestigious national music competitions (Gdańsk, Elbląg) as well as a finalist of the Adam Bronisław Ciechański National Double Bass Competition in Poznań (1992). She also won the 1st Prize in the 10th International František Gregor Double Bass Competition in Kromĕriž (the Czech Republic). While still being a music student she was an awardee of the Minister of Culture and Art scholarship three times. She has performed at a number of festivals, such as the ’Week of Talents’ Music Festival in Tarnów, the Gala Concert of the Year, held in Warsaw as a memorial to Witold Lutosławski, or the 5th Accordion Music Festival in Przemyśl, where she received an award of distinction in the duo category. During the 1st Bydgoszcz Festival for Music Competition Winners, together with the Pomeranian Philharmonic Orchestra, she premiered the Concerto for Double Bass Op. 26 by Stefan Bolesław Poradowski. For some time she also worked with the renowned Wilanow String Quartet. In 1996 she received an art scholarship from the Mayor of the City of Bydgoszcz. She has been busy performing solo pieces as well as chamber music in Poland and abroad. In the years 2006–2008 she taught a double bass class as part of the Summer Music Masterclasses in Mława. Joanna graduated with distinction from the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz, where she is presently a professor, teaching her own double bass class. She is also a soloist of the Pomeranian Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2013 she obtained her degree of habilitated doctor in musical art.
