Szymon Olszański

He graduated from the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz with the degree of Master of Music in Prof. Piotr Grajter’s and Prof. Radosław Marzec’s organ class. He also graduated from the CODARTS University of Arts in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. He has collaborated there with Bas de Vroome, Ben van Oosten, Aart Bergwerff (organ playing) i Hayo Boerema (organ improvising). He has also completed organ music interpretation courses conducted by such well-known organists as Julie Brown (USA), Guy Bovet (Switzerland), Jean-Patrice Brosse, François Espinasse, Francis Jacob, Oliviera Latry (France), Jan Vermeire (Belgium), Ennio Cominetti, Matteo Imbruno, Christian Tarrabia (Italy), Joxe Benantzi Bilbao Riguero, Roberto Fresco, Maria Nacy (Spain), David Ponsford (GB), Gustavo Delgado Parra (Mexico), Johannes Goetz, Martin Rost, Wolfgang Zerer (Germany), Andrzej Chorosiński, Julian Gembalski, Józef Serafin, Marek Toporowski, Krzysztof Urbaniak (Poland). He has collaborated with such conductors as Kai Bumann (Germany), Mykoła Diadura (Ukraine), Paul Esswood (GB), Diego García Rodríguez (Spain), Eugene Zigane, Mariusz Smolij (USA), Zygmunt Rychert, Piotr Wajrak (Poland). Moreover he has made several recordings for the Polish Radio Channel 2 and the Polish Television. He currently works as an organist for the methodist church in Bydgoszcz and he is a teacher at the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music (at the Faculty of Instrumental Music) and at the Jan Łaski Major Theological Seminary, Warsaw. Szymon Olszański is an author of a musical arrangement in the new edition of methodist hymnal which has been published by Pielgrzym Polski publishing house, 2020. He is the winner of the 2nd Organ Competition in Krasnobród (2009) and the 1st Academic Organ Competition in Katowice (2nd Prize, 2012). He gives recitals in Poland and abroad.
